The Vox Hunters and Alex Cumming (2:30 pm ETD / 7:30 pm BST)

Where'er You May Be

Join The Vox Hunters (Armand Aromin & Benedict Gagliardi) and Alex Cumming (The Teacups) for an enjoyable concert of songs, tunes and maybe even some dances from around New England, Old England and beyond! Expect toe tapping tunes, beautiful harmonies and plenty of choruses to sing along with!

As a trio they have performed concerts and contra dances (in the guise of Trip The Light Fantastic) across New England including at Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival, New England Folk Festival and more.

Hailing from the great state of Rhode Island, Armand Aromin and Benedict Gagliardi are seekers and singers of old songs, cultivators of local music, and chronic multi-instrumentalists. They are touted as strong tradition-bearers in their generation, and their genuine affinity for the music is evident in the emotion they draw from it. With a pair of oft-harmonizing voices tastefully garnished with fiddle, free-reeds, and tenor guitar, The Vox Hunters offer an all-natural connection to the living tradition of folk music.

Alex Cumming is a traditional singer, accordionist, pianist and dance caller hailing from Somerset, England, now living in Greater Boston, MA, USA. He performs songs and tunes from around the United Kingdom and America with a great depth of knowledge of the tradition. Alex has made his mark on the folk scene with his rhythmic dance-able accordion style, strong voice and his fun and engaging stage presence.

Along with solo performances and calling work, Alex is a member of award winning a Capella quartet The Teacups (with Will Finn, Kate Locksley, Rosie Calvert), critically acclaimed fiddle and accordion duo Alex Cumming & Nicola Beazley and transatlantic trio Bellwether (with Louise Bichan, Eric McDonald).

Ticketing

To purchase tickets for this event please click on ‘Register’ below. On the next page you can select ticket types and quantities.

We are offering three ticket types for this event:

  • Standard ticket is the ‘normal’ price that we would charge for the event
  • Pay a bit more is for those who can afford to, and would like to help support live music and our artists
  • Pay a bit less is for those who would find the standard ticket a bit of a stretch, for whatever reason

You can purchase whichever ticket you like; you don’t need to give a reason, and you won’t be asked for any proof of need. For online events you only need to purchase one ticket per household/computer.

We are trialling this ticket system to help make our events more accessible to more people, and to allow those who would happily pay a bit more to do so easily, helping us to subsidise tickets for those who can’t afford them.

Standard £14.00 / Sliding scale from £8 - £22
